More than two-dozen bespoke T-shirts to be worn by pupils of Mangotsfield’s Barley Close Community Primary School at inter-school events have been donated by local housebuilder Cotswold Homes.

Welcoming the company’s support, head teacher Jo Williams said: ‘Unlike the present informal arrangement, these T-shirts will help us to raise the profile of Barley Close Primary by providing greater awareness of our name as well as consistency in the clothing worn by our pupils at events with other schools, typically sport and dancing.’

The school is just a short walk from the site of the former Church of England Infant and Junior Primary School on the junction of Richmond Road and St James Street where Cotswold Homes is constructing new homes on its Richmond Grove development.

The scheme has been designed to echo the external appearance of the old-established villas in Richmond Road and as a homage to the previous school building on the site.

‘There’s a lot of excitement locally in the build-up to completion of our showhome which will soon be open for viewing,’ reports Cotswold Homes’ sales and marketing director, Terri Hayes-Pugh. ‘To book an appointment at our launch event, call in at the marketing suite on-site.’

In each home the front door opens on to a spacious ‘wow-factor’ family room the full width of the house. The kitchen-dining suite at the rear features French doors which not only flood the room with natural light but provide access to the garden for al fresco dining.

Aware of the need to create versatile accommodation which meets the changing needs of a growing family, Cotswold Homes has designed a room at the front of the house so that it could be used either as a spacious lounge or an additional bedroom.
