A local firm building new family homes in Corsham is to sponsor a highlight of the town’s Blue Sky Festival this summer, it was announced today.

Cotswold Homes, which has sold all the homes in the first phase of its Corsham Rise development in the town’s Potley Lane, unveiled its plan to support the festival’s Sunday Family Day on June 17 as it launched phase two of the scheme.

Welcoming the news, Pound Arts’ acting director Sophie Moysey said: ‘Our Blue Sky Festival has always focussed on families and engaging with the local community; this year, with the support of Cotswold Homes, the festival will culminate in a Sunday full of free and ticketed family activities in and around The Pound.‘There will be something for everyone with free craft activities, performances and workshops for our local community throughout the day.’

Special acts include The Bewonderment Machine from Yorkshire's Bird in the Hand Theatre, described as 'an artist-built cycle-powered carousel, a kinetic public sculpture and a magical journey for small children.'

Music will be played by Rocktopus, said to be 'the ultimate rock band for kids and families.'

Nick Cope will present an animated compilation of brand new and classic videos which he has created with his son Burt.

In addition, the Sunday Family Day will provide an opportunity for local arts groups who meet at The Pound to put their work on show.

Already available for viewing nearby are Cotswold Homes' two fully-furnished show homes at Corsham Rise where prices start at £309,000.
