Yate-based Cotswold Homes has helped local parents take a break from exhausting round-the-clock care of terminally ill children by supporting a special event organised by the charity Jessie May, a Bristol-based children’s hospice at home service.

The housebuilder sponsored the Afternoon Tea served during a Pamper Day arranged by the charity for more than 35 parents needing a break from the round-the-clock care they provide for their children, as well as the Jessie May nurses.

The event, held at Bath Racecourse, enabled the parents to enjoy pampering which included Reiki, mindfulness, mini makeovers, yoga, reflexology and hairstyling.

‘Jessie May is a fabulous charity,’ says Terri Hayes-Pugh, Cotswold Homes’ sales and marketing director. ‘The enthusiasm and cheerfulness of their nursing teams – who are totally dedicated to working with families facing challenges none of us would wish to experience – is humbling and to be admired.’

Praising Cotswold Homes’ support, Jessie May’s corporate partnerships officer Lindsey Horton said she hopes more local businesses will follow the firm’s example by providing the financial support needed to help the charity provide more respite days for families.
