Top industry accolades for building site managers in Bristol
Two building site managers responsible for residential developments in Bristol and Somerset by South Gloucestershire-based Cotswold Homes Ltd have won the highest industry accolade site managers can receive.
Dave Beckey (48) and Shaun Kington (45) each will receive one of the coveted Pride in the Job Awards presented annually for 32 years by the National House-Building Council (NHBC) to the site managers whose work achieves the highest standards. The NHBC, which sets industry standards to protect homeowners, is the leading provider of warranties and insurance for UK housebuilders.
After 12 months of rigorous judging, Dave and Shaun are justifiably proud to receive the awards, having been shortlisted from 13,000 entrants.
Dave, whose home is in Kingswood and has worked with Cotswold Homes for several years, receives his award in recognition of his work on the company’s recently completed Mulberry Grove development of 14 three- and four-bedroom properties in Morley Road in the Staple Hill area of Bristol.
Shaun, who lives in the Bedminster area of Bristol, wins his award in recognition of his work as the site manager on Cotswold Homes’ Greenacres development of six two- and three-bedroom homes in the Somerset town of Shepton Mallet. The development, adjacent to Duchy of Cornwall land, was popular with local buyers who snapped them up.
Says Tormarton-based Cotswold Homes’ construction manager Guy Edge: “It is a huge commendation and achievement for NHBC awards to be won by a relatively young company like ours. It was established only about ten years ago and employs just ten people.
“On all our sites we strive to achieve building deadlines without compromising on quality. These awards provide an independent endorsement of the calibre of our approach and the meticulous and consistent attention to detail which are hallmarks of our construction standards.”
Following his success at Mulberry Grove, award-winner Dave Beckey is now site manager on Cotswold Homes’ newest development – The Villas – in the Knowle area of Bristol.
