Stepping in to assist Cadbury Heath's enthusiastic young gardeners
Terri Hayes-Pugh formally hands over the garden shed which Cotswold Homes has donated to assist young gardeners at Cadbury Heath Primary School.
Green-fingered pupils at Cadbury Heath Primary School have been presented with a brand new garden shed to ensure safe and secure storage of their tools.
The shed was a gift from local housebuilder Cotswold Homes which is constructing 25 new homes on its nearby Charlotte Mews development in Cadbury Heath.
Terri Hayes-Pugh, the firm’s head of sales and marketing, said she was impressed by the school’s raised-bed allotment on which children grow vegetables and then take home to be cooked.
‘This is one of our most popular extra-curricular activities and while we were trying to decide how to store all the tools we need, Cotswold Homes stepped in to provide a home for them,’ explained the school’s head teacher John Ridley. ‘Our enthusiastic young gardeners are thrilled with it.’
Up the road, the homes taking shape at Charlotte Mews – all with ready-to-use gardens – are proving popular with buyers seeking modern, energy-efficient homes requiring only low maintenance.
Cotswold Homes’ marketing suite in Heath Rise has already secured reservations from several buyers and many more are showing interest, reports Terri.
‘Numerous visitors have called in to inspect the plans, specifications and finishes available,’ she says. ‘Many have visited to find out about the Government’s Help to Buy* scheme whereby purchasers could benefit by paying a deposit of just five per cent.’
The prices of homes currently for sale start at £290,000. They include three-bedroom terraced homes and four-bedroom detached properties as well as versatile townhouses which can be arranged as three-bedroom or four-bedroom homes.
They include innovative new house designs which will be seen for the first time at Charlotte Mews.
The properties enable flexible use of space which includes a big open-plan family ‘hub’ incorporating a dining room and kitchen with French windows opening into to the garden.
