The financial success of this year’s Chipping Sodbury Festival has enabled the organisers to make a £150 donation to the charity Jessie May, a Bristol-based children’s hospice at home service.

The charity was nominated by Yate-based housebuilder Cotswold Homes Ltd which sponsored an appearance by the crowd-pulling local party band For The Record, one of the highlights of the Music in the Street evening during the June event.

‘The work undertaken by Jessie May is wonderful,’ says Terri Hayes-Pugh, Cotswold Homes’ sales and marketing director. ‘It is quite humbling to observe the enthusiasm and dedication of their cheerful nursing teams who work with families facing challenges none of us would wish to experience.’

Commenting on this year’s Chipping Sodbury Festival one of its organisers, Kate Cox, said that the contributions made by local businesses like Cotswold Homes played a significant role in the success of the event.

She added: ‘The festival is pleased when it can support local and national charities and is only able to do this because of the generous support given by our wonderful sponsors, in both business and local government.'

Music in the Street took place just ‘a stone’s throw’ from Cotswold Homes’ Florence Gardens development in a leafy enclave off Trinity Lane where the firm is about to take the wraps off a newly-completed fully-furnished showhome.
