Our gift of wet weather kit was timely in one of the wettest Junes on record
Housebuilder Cotswold Homes’ offer to sponsor wet weather kit for use by children attending a South Gloucestershire pre-school proved to be timely as the past month has been one of the wettest Junes on record.
Wellies and waterproof dungarees were presented to Tytherington Pre-school’s chairman, Victoria Barker, by Terri Hayes-Pugh, sales and marketing director of Cotswold Homes whose development of new homes in the village – The Paddocks – is an immediate neighbour.
Welcoming the firm’s support Victoria said: ‘Cotswold Homes’ gift has enabled us to replace our old outdoor clothing so that we can continue to undertake planned outings with the children whatever the weather.’
June’s downpours have failed to hamper progress on site work at The Paddocks where Cotswold Homes has already sold half of the homes in the first phase.
A mix of two-bedroom bungalows and three- and four-bedroom high-specification detached family homes are taking shape in what Terri describes as ‘a countryside haven.’
She revealed that people living locally are at the forefront of those reserving the new homes.
Said Terri: ‘Rain or shine, there’s a great appetite for country living and Tytherington benefits from a thriving community with its own village shop and country pub. It’s also great for those working in nearby towns such as Thornbury and Chipping Sodbury which boast a wide array of high street names, boutiques and restaurants.’
According to Terri, many of the buyers at The Paddocks have been attracted by the support available through the Government’s Help-to-Buy scheme.
She explained: ‘Whatever the political climate, there’s still an appetite for top quality, brand new, low-maintenance homes with contemporary features and benefits. With Help-to-Buy available – and not just for first time buyers – buyers can purchase with a deposit of just five percent.’ [Terms and conditions apply; please note this scheme has now ended]
