The popularity of homes built and mostly sold off-plan by local housebuilder Cotswold Homes Ltd in Downend, Mangotsfield and Oldland Common has prompted the firm to unveil plans for another new development in the area, this time at Cadbury Heath.

The site in Heath Rise, previously occupied by The Batch Community Centre and Youth Club, became available last year when it had relocated to an adjacent bespoke new building.

Taking shape on the Cotswold Homes development - Charlotte Mews - is a range of new homes for sale. They include three-bedroom terraced homes and four-bedroom detached properties as well as versatile townhouses which can be arranged as three-bedroom or four-bedroom homes.

Says Terri Hayes-Pugh, head of Cotswold Homes' sales and marketing team: 'We are delighted to have secured another development in our heartland. It's a further opportunity to do what we do best, creating new communities in already popular areas.'

Features will include contemporary kitchens incorporating fully-integrated appliances and stylish fixtures and fittings. Bathrooms will have semi-pedestal basins to maximise floor space and Porcelanosa wall tiles.

Flexible use of space means that many of the homes include a spacious family 'hub' incorporating an open-plan dining room and kitchen with French windows opening onto the garden.

Research among buyers showed they loved the fact that, when handed over to them, gardens were turfed, paved, fenced and ready for use, saving them both time and additional expense.

Purchasers at Charlotte Mews are expected to be mainly local people seeking a modern, energy-efficient home requiring only low maintenance.

She says that some may be people keen to make use of the Government's Help to Buy scheme whereby purchasers can benefit by paying a deposit of just five per cent.
