Terri Hayes-Pugh – who heads the sales and marketing team at Cotswold Homes, which is building houses at Prestbury Mews on the former Gloucestershire Dairy site in nearby Prestbury Road – was keen to help when she learned that the scouts needed to replace some of their tents but that the funds available to do so were limited.

She said: ‘The exclusively private development we are building is all about comfortable living so, when we heard that the Scouts needed help, we were happy to contribute towards the cost of a big new Coleman Coastline tent.’

Welcoming the firm’s support, Scout leader Shelley Wright said: ‘Cotswold Homes’ generosity will add to the enjoyment and comfort of our young people when they are away from home. Our new tent contains four separate bedrooms, giving greater privacy to each member of the group, as well as a spacious central living area.’

This summer Bob’s Dinosuars have attended Norjam, a big Scouting jamboree in Norfolk, and competed in a 60 kilometre kayaking-cycling-walking triathlon. In addition, 12 Explorers completed their Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award Expedition under the supervision of Bob’s Dinosaurs’ leaders.

Prestbury Mews comprises an exclusively private development of 11 three-bedroom and four-bedroom houses, all with private parking and gardens.

The designs of the contemporary new homes were borrowed from Cotswold Homes’ Coastline development in the North Somerset seaside town of Clevedon, one of its most successful and fastest-selling schemes in the past three years.
