Work is underway on the construction of brand new homes in Tytherington, the rural picturesque South Gloucestershire village whose origins are mentioned in the Domesday Book.

In response to local demand, The Paddocks – a leafy enclave at the heart of the village planned by Yate-based housebuilder Cotswold Homes – will include two-bedroom bungalows as well as three- and four-bedroom high-specification detached family homes just a short walk from the shop, post office, pub and church, all of which are expected to benefit from a modest increase in the village community.

Unveiling the plans for The Paddocks, Cotswold Homes’ sales and marketing director, Terri Hayes-Pugh, said: ‘Despite their popularity, brand new bungalows are rarely available to buy in this area but we aim to have the first ones ready for occupation later this year.

Terri predicts that her firm’s no-hidden-extras policy will play a key role in attracting buyers.

She said: ‘Our purchase prices include the big five fully-integrated appliances – oven, hob with a feature hood, fridge-freezer, washer-drier and integrated dishwasher – as well as contemporary vinyl flooring in some areas of the home.’ Plans will be available to inspect in a marketing suite due to open on-site in the spring.
