Local area

There’s an abundance of places to visit in Frome and the beautiful surrounding villages and countryside – you’ll be spoilt for choice. Steeped in history, Frome has one of the largest conservation areas in Somerset and a rich history as a productive mill town. Visit one of the historic buildings and homes, castles, churches and landmarks, as well as museums and medieval settlements.

Frome is well served by commercial bus services for the town centre and surrounding villages. The railway station is less than one mile away from Goodridge Grove on foot and there are direct mainline trains to and from London, with a journey time of just under two hours. There are a number of different ways to drive to Bath and Bristol, depending on your preference but, very approximately, Bath is 30 mins away and Bristol an hour by car.
